Bellamy To Lead Wales To 2028 World Cup

Craig Bellamy Becomes Wales Manager

Bellamy to Lead Wales to 2028 World Cup

Former Wales Captain Appointed on Four-Year Contract

Former Wales captain Craig Bellamy has been appointed as the new manager of the national team on a four-year contract. The 43-year-old succeeds Rob Page, who was sacked last month after Wales failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Bellamy, who won 78 caps for Wales, has been out of work since leaving his role as assistant coach at Burnley in June.

Bellamy's appointment has been met with mixed reactions. Some fans have welcomed the return of a former player to the helm, while others have questioned his lack of managerial experience. However, Bellamy is confident that he can lead Wales to success.

"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to manage my country," Bellamy said. "I know there are some people who doubt me, but I'm confident that I can prove them wrong. I have a clear vision for the team, and I believe that we can achieve great things together."

Bellamy's first task will be to prepare Wales for their UEFA Nations League campaign, which begins in September. Wales will face Belgium, Poland, and the Czech Republic in Group A4.
