Supervisor of Elections to Mark National Voter Registration Day
Celebrate Democracy, Register to Vote
Don't Miss Out, Make Your Voice Heard
In honor of National Voter Registration Day on September 20, 2023, the Supervisor of Elections will host a voter registration drive at the County Courthouse from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event is open to all eligible voters, and no appointment is necessary.
This year's National Voter Registration Day is particularly important, as it marks the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This landmark legislation outlawed discriminatory voting practices that had prevented many African Americans from exercising their right to vote.
The Voting Rights Act has been instrumental in increasing voter turnout among minority groups, and it remains an essential safeguard for our democracy. However, there are still many people who are not registered to vote, and the Supervisor of Elections is urging all eligible citizens to take advantage of this opportunity to register.
Registering to vote is easy and only takes a few minutes. You can register online, by mail, or in person at the Supervisor of Elections office or at one of the many voter registration drives that will be held throughout the county in the coming weeks.
If you are not sure if you are registered to vote, you can check your status online at the Supervisor of Elections website. If you are not registered, you can download a voter registration form from the website or pick one up at the Supervisor of Elections office.
The deadline to register to vote in the November 8, 2023, election is October 11, 2023. Don't miss out on your chance to make your voice heard. Register to vote today!
